WATCH: Worn-Out Doctors Make Mistakes on Short Shifts
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) mandated in 2011 that resident physicians must work shifts no longer than 16 hours. However, two new studies, published this week in JAMA Internal Medicine have found that these shorter shifts don’t necessarily improve patient care.
