Wes Welker Agrees To Two-Year Contract With Denver Broncos

Jim Rogash/Getty Images(DENVER) -- Free-agent wide receiver Wes Welker has agreed to a two-year contract with the Denver Broncos.

“Agreed to terms on a 2-yr deal with Wes Welker,” Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway wrote on his Twitter account Wednesday. “Excited to have Wes join the Broncos. His production & toughness will be a great asset!”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the deal is for $12 million.

The 31-year-old Welker spent the previous six seasons with the Patriots. His best season with New England came in 2011, when he had 122 receptions for 1,569 yards and nine touchdowns.

The five-time Pro Bowler has also played for the San Diego Chargers and the Miami Dolphins.
