Wyo. Communities Rally to Open Yellowstone Early

(JACKSON, WY) — The western Wyoming communities of Jackson and Cody have rallied to fight the negative effects of sequestration. An estimated 18,000 visitors go through Yellowstone each May, having a major impact on the local economy.Cody residents raised $100,000 to make sure that Yellowstone’s east gate is open by May 3. The sequester would’ve kept the park closed until May 24. The city of Jackson is raising money to ensure that the south gate is open by May 10, it’s normally scheduled time. Snow plowing is set to begin April 8
