Scott shot a 3-under 69 after 18 holes Sunday and headed into the clubhouse with the lead, but Angel Cabrera birdied the 18th, putting both golfers at 9-under and sending the tournament into a sudden-death playoff.

Scott and Cabrera both made par on the first playoff hole. Scott then birdied the second playoff hole, earning him his first green jacket.

Scott is one of three Australians to finish the tournament in the top four. Jason Day shot a 2-under 70 to finish third and Marc Leishman shot an even-par 72 to finish fourth.

Tiger Woods was 2-under for the day and finished tied for fourth with Leishman.

Scott becomes the first Australian to ever win the Masters.
