(MILWAUKEE) — The Milwaukee Brewers placed third baseman Aramis Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left knee Saturday.
Ramirez was injured while sliding into second base during the Brewers’ 3-1 loss to Arizona Friday night. Ramirez had an MRI Saturday confirming the injury. It is the same injury that forced him to miss two weeks of Spring Training.
“They have to (place him on the DL),” Ramirez said. “Last time it took me two weeks. This gives me the full 15 days to recover. You never know how long it’s going to take, how it’s going to respond, because you can’t do anything to it. You can’t shoot cortisone in it or anything like that. You just have to let it heal. Hopefully, I just need 15 days.”
Utility man Josh Prince was called up from Triple-A Nashville to take Ramirez’s roster spot.
Ramirez is hitting .385 in 13 at-bats this season.
