(TEMPE, Ariz.) — The Arizona Cardinals acquired quarterback Carson Palmer and a seventh-round pick in this month’s NFL draft from the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday for a sixth-round pick in 2013 and a conditional seventh-round pick in 2014.
In order for the trade to be finalized, the 33-year-old Palmer agreed to restructure his contract with the Cards. His new deal is for two years worth $16 million, according to ESPN.
Palmer was originally drafted out of USC by the Cincinnati Bengals with the first overall pick in the 2002 draft. He was dealt to the Raiders during the 2011 season. In 24 starts with the Silver and Black, Palmer tossed for 6,771 yards with 35 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.
