(NEW YORK) — Your dreams have come true, Arrested Development fans: Netflix confirmed Thursday that the new season of the cult classic TV show will be released May 26.
“Finally my simple wish for the show is coming true: that it be broadcast every second around the clock to every television, computer or mobile device in existence,” said series creator and executive producer Mitch Hurwitz. “In truth, we are doing something very ambitious.”
Arrested Development, featuring a star-studded cast including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, Jeffrey Tambor and Will Arnett, originally ran for three seasons on Fox. Though it was a critic’s darling and an Emmy winner, it never managed to attract a wide audience and was canceled in 2006.
In this new iteration, 15 episodes will be released all at once at 12:01 p.m. Pacific time.
Said Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer of Netflix: “The highly anticipated return of this show is sure to make history all over again.”
