The 6-foot-tall plaque, which was located just beyond right field, was stolen from AT&T Park. An investigation is underway to try and find who was behind the heist.

“We’re in the process of replacing it,” San Francisco Giants spokeswoman Staci Slaughter said on Tuesday. “We’re not sure what happened. We’re reviewing video, but haven’t found anything yet.”

Bonds broke Hank Aaron’s home run record on Aug. 7, 2007, against the Washington Nationals at home in San Francisco.

Bonds has long since been tied to allegations that he used performance-enhancing drugs while pursuing the record.
