Published at(NEW YORK) — Bill Clinton is now officially on Twitter. The former U.S. president sent two tweets on the social networking site on Wednesday.
In his first post, Clinton mentioned comedian Stephen Colbert and his foundation, the Clinton Foundation:

It’s worth noting that there’s a third tweet on Clinton’s Twitter page. That post, sent on April 6, was written by Colbert while he was interviewing Clinton on his show, The Colbert Report.
The comedian has been pushing Clinton to join Twitter. On Wednesday, Colbert tweeted, “I taught @billclinton to tweet! This is almost as exciting as the time I taught Cheney “Dance Dance Revolution.””
As of early Thursday morning, Clinton’s Twitter account had over 270,000 followers.
