Chiarelli did not offer a timetable on when Marchand will return.

Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov threw an elbow into the side of Marchand’s head in the Bruins’ 5-4 win over New Jersey Wednesday night.

Marchand did not return to the game after the hit and Volchenkov later suspended four games for the hit.

Marchand becomes the second Bruin in two-weeks who will miss time due to a concussion.

Center Patrice Bergeron hasn’t played since March 25, when he suffered a mild concussion in the Bruins’ game versus Ottawa.

Marchand leads the Bruins with 33 points.
