As for the scene at the TD Garden, the Bruins started by holding a moment of silence and putting together a montage of scenes from the marathon on the jumbotron. After that, Rene Rancourt started singing the National Anthem, but soon was overtaken by the entire crowd who stood together and sang till the end. The fans continued with their support all night chanting “We are Boston” and “USA, USA.”

When the game finished players from both teams stood in the middle of the ice with their sticks held high honoring Boston.

“It’s tough to keep a dry eye out there,” Bruins forward Shawn Thornton said after the game.” The memorial on the big screen and to hear the crowd singing like that is pretty special.”
