That was when Nate Robinson stepped in.

Robinson scored 34 points, helping the Bulls wipe away their fourth-quarter deficit and outlast the Nets 142-134 in a triple overtime thriller.

“I always think I’m on fire, kind of like the old school game NBA Jam,” he said. “You make a couple in a row, the rim’s on fire. You shoot the ball, the ball’s on fire. I feel like that at times — all the time. Whenever I’m in the game, I just play with a lot of confidence. You kind of have to lie to yourself and feel like you can’t miss.”

The win gave the Bulls a 3-1 series lead and a chance to eliminate the Nets on Monday night in Brooklyn.

Robinson’s floater over Deron Williams in the first overtime gave the Bulls a two-point lead before Joe Johnson sent the game into a second overtime with a shot at the buzzer.  Bulls center Joakim Noah had his potential game-winning jumper blocked at the end of the second overtime.

In the third extra session, the Bulls took the lead for good on a Noah jumper and the Nets just ran out of gas.

“Honestly, this is definitely a game we let get away,” Johnson said. “It’s disappointing, but the series isn’t over.”

Williams led the Nets with 32 points, while Brook Lopez added 26 points and 11 rebounds.
