Charter Bus Overturns on Texas Highway, at Least Two Killed
Published at(IRVING, Texas) — A charter bus overturned Thursday on Texas State Highway 161, just east of Dallas-Fort Worth, leaving at last two people dead and more than 30 others injured.
Investigators say the driver lost control of the vehicle, struck a traffic attenuator — one of those rubber barrels you see along freeways — bounced to the other side, which caused the bus to flip onto its right side, blocking the main door when it rolled over.
A crane was brought into place to turn the bus upright.
The freeway was blocked in both directions with fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars.
