‘Cookie Monster’ Arrested for Pushing Tot in NYC
Published at(NEW YORK) — A costumer dressed as the beloved Sesame Street character Cookie Monster was arrested for allegedly shoving a toddler when the toddler’s mom didn’t tip him for a picture taken in New York City’s Times Square.
Parmita Kurada, the mother of little Samay Kurada, tells WABC-TV that the costumer, Osvaldo Quiroz-Lopez, took it upon himself to pick up the boy and pose with him for a picture. Mrs. Kurada claims while her husband went to an ATM for cash to pay Quiroz-Lopez, the costumer reportedly got impatient, cursed out the family, and shoved the 2-year-old to the pavement.
He was arrested on charges of child endangerment, reckless endangerment, and aggressive begging in a public place. As for little Samay, he was asked if he still likes Cookie Monster. “No,” the child tells WABC. “Not anymore. I like Elmo.”
