Andy Dick hugged his pro partner, Sharna Burgess, and held her tight when he heard he had received the lowest combined total of judges’ scores and viewer votes.

The comedian was overcome with emotion as he talked about the experience.  “It’s been the best. It’s just been the best,” he said, his voice breaking.

He jokingly told judge Carrie Ann Inaba that she was responsible for his ouster because she gave him a low score of five out of a possible ten for his individual routine on Monday night.

Throughout the seven weeks of competition, the judges commended Dick for his upbeat approach, dedication to his routines and his highly entertaining performances, but they acknowledged his shortcomings in technique, fluidity and musicality. Dick was often at or near the bottom of the leader board. He was in last place after his two performances on Monday night.

The results show also featured a live musical performance from Michael Bublé.

Country music singer Kellie Pickler, soap star Ingo Rademacher, Bachelor star Sean Lowe, Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, Disney star Zendaya and NFL player Jacoby Jones are still in the running for the coveted Mirror Ball trophy.

Dancing with the Stars returns next Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern time on ABC.
