Hughley hugged his pro dance partner, Cheryl Burke, when he learned his fate and joked with Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli.  Both judges had given Hughley some particularly strong criticism during his time on the show.

“I’ve had a ball.  I played with house money,” Hughley said of his experience.  “Thank you Team DL and Cheryl for keeping us in this long.  I’ve had a ball.”

Hughley’s dance routines resulted in scores that put him at or near the bottom of the leader board each week, although he rallied last week and delivered a performance that placed him in the middle of the pack after the judges noted he had shown improvement.

The couple with the lowest combined total of judges’ scores and viewer votes is eliminated each week.

Tuesday’s show also featured musical performances from Selena Gomez, The Band Perry and singer/songwriter Kerli.

Returning next week to compete are boxer Victor Ortiz, comic Andy Dick, Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, Disney star Zendaya, country music singer Kellie Pickler, NFL player Jacoby Jones, soap opera star Ingo Rademacher and Bachelor star Sean Lowe.

Dancing with the Stars returns next Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern time with special musical performances by Stevie Wonder and Hunter Hayes.  The remaining eight couples will dance to Stevie Wonder songs and also compete in team dances.
