(AUBURN HILLS, Mich.) — The Detroit Pistons fired head coach Lawrence Frank on Thursday.
The 42-year-old Frank spent two seasons roaming the sidelines in the Motor City, compiling a record of 54-94. The Pistons started off this season losing their first eight games, en route to a 29-53 record.
“We thank Lawrence for his hard work and dedication, but we feel it is in the best interest of the franchise to make a change at this time,” Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars said in a statement. “Decisions like this are never easy and we wish Lawrence well in the future.”
Before joining the Pistons, Frank spent seven seasons coaching the Nets.
