(LOS ANGELES) — Veteran actor Dick Van Dyke has been forced to cancel a public appearance in New York next week due to illness, ETOnline has learned.
Van Dyke was scheduled to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for Bettering Humanity through Comedy from New York’s 92nd Street Y on April 26.
A rep tells ET the 87-year-old entertainer won’t be able to attend due to “fatigue and lack of sleep resulting from symptoms of a yet-to-be diagnosed neurological disorder.”
The rep says Van Dyke has canceled commitments requiring air travel and is currently resting at his home in Malibu, Calif.
Van Dyke’s credits include the film Mary Poppins, the Broadway musical Bye, Bye, Birdie and TV’s The Dick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis Murder.
