Collins will still remain with the team as an adviser. The 76ers finished 34-48 and missed the playoffs for the first time in three seasons.

“This is his decision,” Harris said. “He is not being pushed out.”

Collins has one year left on his four-year deal worth $4.5 million and cited family reasons for the reason he’s stepping down as coach.

“There are a lot of things I want to enjoy,” Collins said, who made the decision in December.

The former four-time All-Star for the Sixers coached the team to three straight playoff appearances upon his return to the team in 2010.
