(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Of the thousands of people who participated in yesterday’s Boston Marathon, at least 18 were from eastern Idaho.  Local News 8 reports that Karen Smith of Idaho Falls crossed the finish line less than a minute before the first bomb exploded.  She later noted on her Facebook page that she was uninjured. Runner Von Croft, also of Idaho Falls, initially thought that the explosions were part of a celebration as the race closed. As of now, no runners from the region are listed among the injured.   Others from East Idaho who ran in the race and finished just before the bombs went off are Glen Carpenter and Craig Hudman.   Both said the experience was surreal.  All those involved and their friends and family are all safe, and many are already returning home.
