A man drove up to the ballpark around 2 p.m. Wednesday and handed a package to a security guard at Gate K, according to police and Cubs spokesman Julian Green.

“We got a call at 2:30 p.m., responding to 1060 West Addison, Wrigley Field,” a Chicago Police Department spokesman said. “We’re investigating it as an intimidating package.”

The goat’s head is a reference to the possible “curse” of the Cubs, which happened in 1945 when restaurant owner Billy Sianis brought his goat to a game. Sianis was asked to leave the game and said the team would never win again.

The Cubs last playoff appearance was in 2008 when they lost 3-0 to the Dodgers in the NLDS.
