Heidi Klum Helps Save Son from Drowning in Hawaii
Published at(NEW YORK) — Heidi Klum played the role of hero to one of her children on Sunday.
The Project Runway host helped save her seven-year-old son Henry from drowning after he was caught in a riptide in Oahu, Hawaii. Klum and her boyfriend, bodyguard Martin Kirsten, managed to save both Henry and two nannies from the water, according to Us Weekly.
In a statement provided to ABC News, Klum recalls, “We were pulled into the ocean by a big wave. Like any mother, I was very scared for my child and everyone else in the water. Thankfully Henry is a strong swimmer and was able to swim back to land and we were able to get everyone out safely.”
Henry’s father is Klum’s ex-husband, Seal, from whom she split in early 2012. According to Us Weekly, Klum and her four children began their Hawaii vacation over a week ago.
The supermodel will serve as one of the new judges on NBC’s America’s Got Talent this summer.
