Idaho Low on Employee Health Insurance

(BOISE, ID) – A new national study shows that Idaho is nearly last in the country for its percentage of companies offering employer-sponsored health insurance. Idaho is ranked only behind Alaska, Montana, and Wyoming, with only 43 percent of employers providing workers insurance. Idaho is also second-to-last for small businesses offering insurance. 31 percent of Idaho workers also pay health insurance premiums for coverage of family members, the third highest amount in the nation.
