The movie, which again stars Robert Downey, Jr. as genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist Tony Stark, picks up where Avengers left off.

Gwyneth Paltrow, back as Stark’s right hand woman-turned love interest Pepper Potts, told ABC News Radio, “I’m excited for [fans] to see Pepper and how she’s evolved and that she gets to do some really fun things.”

This time around, Stark has his world turned upside down by an evil figure known as The Mandarin, played by series newcomer Ben Kingsley.

The Oscar winner explained, “The Mandarin doesn’t lead with his fists and his boots.  He leads with manipulation, intelligence, manipulating with audiences sensibilities, threatening them, blackmailing them, he’s a clever man.”

The acclaimed actor — who along with fellow Oscar winner Paltrow, as well as Academy Award nominees Downey, Guy Pearce, and Don Cheadle, adds some serious acting chops to the Marvel comic book adaptation — said Iron Man 3 has it all.

“You have an action sequence that’s breathtaking, always followed by a moment of absurdity, tenderness, intimacy, love, loss, friendship, comradeship, self doubt, panic attacks.  All these are wonderful human feelings that we all share,” said Kingsley.

Iron Man 3 opens in the U.S. on May 3.
