Japan Deploys Missile Interceptors Ahead of North Korean Launch
Published at(TOKYO) — Japan continues to take measures to prepare ahead of a possible missile launch by North Korea.
Its defense ministry deployed PAC-3 missile interceptors late Monday night in anticipation of a North Korean missile launch.
Two of the Patriot missiles have been set up at the defense ministry in central Tokyo, as well as two other defense bases in Saitama and Chiba, just outside the city.
Japan has taken similar steps before previous North Korean launches, and have PAC-3s in Okinawa as well. It has never tried to shoot down a missile.
