(RIGBY, ID) – The Jefferson County School District has approved plans for a new world language program. Selected students at Jefferson Elementary will learn Spanish, while South Fork Elementary students will learn Chinese. The parents of students who want their children enrolled will have their child’s name placed in a lottery. District officials say they won’t start the lottery until they hear responses from inquiring parents.
