(FORT WORTH, Texas) — The NASCAR Sprint Cup series will be at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday night. Jimmie Johnson sits atop the points lead with a six-point edge on Brad Keselowski. Fresh off a win at Martinsville last weekend, Johnson is hoping to extend that lead.
“I want to lap him (Brad Keselowski) every race,” Johnson said Friday. “I know he wants to do the same to me and I feel the same about others. In the heat of the moment, I want to crush him.”
Dale Earnhardt Jr. sits in third, 12 points away from his teammate. Johnson lapped Earnhardt Jr. last weekend under caution after Earnhardt spun on the track.
“I would have done the same thing Jimmie did,” Earnhardt said Thursday. “If I’m leading the race, I have to think about my team, my car and what I’m trying to do.”
In the standings, Kyle Busch sits fourth, followed by Kasey Kahne in fifth.
