(NEW YORK) — New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has won the scoring title. Anthony will sit out tonight’s season finale against the Atlanta Hawks and finish the season averaging 28.7 points per game.
Anthony was given the title after Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant announced on Wednesday that he will also sit out their final game against the Bucks. Durant was averaging 28.1 points per game.
In order to beat Anthony for his fourth consecutive scoring title, Durant would have needed 70 points against Milwaukee.
The Thunder already has the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference locked up.
