(NEW YORK) — Manti Te’o has finally found a home.
Te’o was drafted in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers.
The former Notre Dame linebacker was taken 38th overall after not getting selected in the first round. The Chargers made a trade with the Arizona Cardinals to move up seven spots to take Te’o.
Te’o made national news earlier this year when it was revealed that he had fallen for a catfishing scam on the Internet that centered around his supposed girlfriend who had passed away. The girlfriend never existed, and his performance at the scouting combine was heavily scrutinized.
Last year, Te’o had 111 tackles and 7 interceptions to go along with 1.5 sacks while being named an All-American for the Fighting Irish.
