Miguel Cabrera Powers Detroit To Victory Over Toronto

4 9 13%20Cabrera%20A?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1365544856943Tony Firriolo/MLB Photos via Getty Images(DETROIT) — Reigning American League Most Valuable Player Miguel Cabrera hit his first homer of the season and drove in four runs as the Detroit Tigers tamed the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, 7-3.

With Austin Jackson and Torii Hunter on base in the bottom of the fourth inning, Cabrera launched a three-run home run off of Blue Jays starter Brandon Morrow to give Detroit a 5-1 lead. He would finish the day with four hits and three runs.

Hunter had three hits in the game, including his 2,000th of his career.

Morrow (0-1) allowed five earned runs and nine hits in 3 2-3 innings of work. Anibal Sanchez (1-0) picked up the win for Detroit, striking out eight batters over seven innings.
