More Now Disapprove than Approve of Obama’s Job Performance
Published at(WASHINGTON) — Following his reelection, President Obama enjoyed a surge in his approval rating, with 58 percent of Americans in a Gallup poll last December giving him good marks for the work he’s been doing.
Yet, despite the economy seemingly picking up steam after years of malaise, Americans aren’t as enthusiastic about Obama’s job performance, judging by the latest Gallup three-day tracking poll.
As of now, 47 percent now approve of the president’s performance, with 48 percent saying they now disapprove of how he’s handling the nation’s affairs.
Obama’s approval rating hasn’t been this low since right before the Democratic National Convention in late August 2012, when pollsters put the race between Republican Mitt Romney and the president at a dead heat.
