In order for the trade to be finalized, the 31-year-old Gaborik agreed to waive his no-trade clause.

In 35 games this season with the Blueshirts, Gaborik had nine goals and ten assists for 19 points. He topped the 40-goal mark twice during his four-year stint on Broadway.

Gaborik spent the first eight seasons with the Minnesota Wild before signing a five-year, $37.5 million deal with the Rangers in 2009. In 757 career NHL games, he has 333 goals and 333 assists.
