Deron Williams had 22 points and seven assists, Brook Lopez added 21 and the Nets crushed the Chicago Bulls 106-89 on Saturday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Joe Johnson poured in 16 points for the Nets, who appeared in their first playoff game since 2007.

“I thought we competed extremely well, I thought we defended extremely well and pushed the ball and shared the ball extremely well in the first half,” Carlesimo said about the wire-to-wire victory.

Carlos Boozer led the Bulls with 25 points and eight boards.  Center Joakim Noah gave it a go despite plantar fasciitis in his foot, scoring four points in 13 minutes.

All-Star point guard Derrick Rose did not play for the Bulls, but there is still a chance he suits up for the Bulls later on in the series.

The Nets host Game 2 in Brooklyn on Monday night.
