Red-Hot Braves Win Eighth Straight Game
Published at(WASHINGTON) — The Atlanta Braves just keep finding ways to win.
Tim Hudson went seven innings for his second win of the season, Evan Gattis hit a two-run home run, and the Braves topped the Washington Nationals 3-1 on Saturday for their eighth consecutive victory.
“In close games like today, well-pitched games, it’s the little things you have to do that win the game,” Hudson said. “They made one mistake that cost them the game, and we were pretty solid all day
Nationals hurler Stephen Strasburg (1-2) gave up five hits and two unearned runs in six innings of work. Gattis homered in the third enning following a two-out throwing error by third baseman Ryan Zimmerman.
Atlanta (10-1) added an insurance run in the ninth, before Craig Kimbrel shut the door with his sixth save of the season.
