(WASHINGTON) — Federal regulators are sounding a health warning about cucumbers that are making people sick, and could be tainted with salmonella.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is now blocking cucumbers from two major growers in Mexico — Daniel Cardenas Izabal and Miracle Greenhouse — after 73 people got sick in 18 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
No one has died, but at least 14 people have been hospitalized.
