(SALT LAKE CITY, UT) – The Boy Scouts of America has rejected a proposal from a prominent gay rights group to sponsor a Utah scout troop. Organizers with the Utah Pride Center say that the Boy Scouts rejected the sponsorship on grounds that the mission of their organization didn’t align with the moral codes by which scouts are required to live. Utah Pride officials say the troop would’ve had straight leaders guiding ten middle school-aged boys.
