(PROVO, UT) – Pocatello native Taysom Hill has been named the starting quarterback for BYU’s football team. Coach Bronco Mendenhall praised the Highland High School graduate’s leadership and athleticism, which will come in useful this fall. Hill was recruited by Stanford and racked up eight touchdowns in six games as a backup before a season-ending injury last year. Sports pundits say that if Hill fully recovers from his injuries, he’ll be a likely contender for the Heisman Trophy.
