Monique Reid hit two free-throws with 2.6 seconds left and (5) Louisville stunned top-seeded Baylor 82-81 to advance to the Elite Eight.

The win also ended the collegiate career of Baylor center Brittney Griner, who had 14 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

“I’m just sad,” Griner said as one of the most illustrious college careers in history came to a close. “I didn’t do what I needed to do to get my team to the Elite Eight and just disappointment in myself.”

Odyssey Sims led Baylor (34-2), with 29 points.  They were considered by many to be a lock for the Final Four, but the Cardinals made sure that wouldn’t be the case.

“It’s a tough way to lose,” coach Kim Mulkey said. “It’s hard to lose when it’s your last game, but it’s even harder the way that game ended. Makes it a little tougher.”

The win made it a great day for the University of Louisville, as the men’s team beat Duke 85-63 earlier in the day to advance to the Final Four of the Men’s tournament.
