Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban made headlines this week when he said he’d consider drafting Baylor’s Brittney Griner. Griner is arguably the most dominant female basketball player in years, and Cuban said he would seriously contemplate bringing her to the NBA to see if she could make it.

While opinions have been mixed about whether or not she could play with the men, Battier thinks if it is not Griner, a woman will be suiting up in an NBA uniform one day.

“There’s no doubt in our lifetime, there will be a woman NBA player,” Battier told ESPN.com.

“I don’t know if it’s Griner or if it’s someone who is five-years-old right now,” Battier added. “But we’ll see it. It’ll happen in our lifetime. Just the law of averages.”

Griner scored 3,393 points at Baylor, the second-most in woman’s NCAA history.
