Sleepy Teen Causes Accident

(CHUBBUCK, ID) – Three people were hospitalized after a 15-year-old girl fell asleep at the wheel and caused an accident Tuesday.  Idaho State Police say the teen driver and two young passengers, all from Chubbuck, collided head on with a semi truck along Arbon Valley Highway at around 8:30 a.m. They were taken by ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment, and two were later released. A 12-year-old girl, however, remains in stable condition. The driver of the semi truck, 29-year-old Tell Scherbinske of Blackfoot, was uninjured.
