Angie Everhart Diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer

David Livingston/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Model and actress Angie Everhart, 43, has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and will undergo surgery Tuesday, her rep confirmed Monday to ABC News.
“Word has been trickling out about supermodel/actress Angie Everhart’s health,” her rep said in a statement. “She wants to set the record straight by letting everyone know that it is true that she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, however, the prognosis is very good.”
Everhart is scheduled to undergo surgery Tuesday, her rep said in the statement, adding that she “expects to be back to work and to mommy duties in a few weeks.”
The former Sports Illustrated model is a single parent to 3-year-old son Kayden Bobby Everhart. She was previously married to Ashley Hamilton in the 1990s and was briefly engaged to Sylvester Stallone in 1995 and Joe Pesci before their split in 2008. Everhart appeared in Last Action Hero and Another 9 1/2 Weeks.
Her diagnosis might have been on her mind May 10 when she tweeted, “I’m reflecting on my life these days … I have been sooo lucky, super happy, but nothing beats being a MOM!! I love you Kayden!!
Her rep said, “The most important reason she is revealing this information is to encourage people to learn about cancer prevention, its signs and treatment immediately.”
She added that Everhart “wants to thank everyone who has heard about it and expressed their support.”
