His new teammate, linebacker Donald Butler, think Te’o will fit in nicely with the Chargers.

Heading into the draft, some were worried about how Te’o would handle being in an NFL locker room based off the recent scandal. Butler doesn’t seem to think there will be any issues.

“I’m sureh he’ll get some jabs,” Butler told U-T San Diego. “But that comes with being a rookie. He might get a little more because of his situation, but I’m sure he’s man enough to handle it and really grow from it. I don’t think it’s going to be anything over-the-top. It’ll be your normal rookie jokes.”

Before the scandal broke, Te’o was considered one of the top prospects in the draft. But that, combined with a poor performance in the BCS Title Game, he stock fell drastically. He wound up being taken in the second round by the Chargers.

Butler has been with the Chargers since 20011.
