(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Idaho Falls Police are investigating the theft of thousands of dollars in copper wire and other equipment from two substations.  Investigators believe the suspect or suspects broke into the Milligan and Sugar Hill substations some time in the past two weeks, taking 144 feet of copper wire and around 80 brass connectors. Stealing copper wire is a popular trend among criminals, who are usually able to sell it for scrap with a hefty profit. Anyone with information about the incidents can call Crimestoppers at 522-1983
