Crapo Addresses Loss of Campaign Funds
Published at(BOISE, ID) – The ex-campaign manager for U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo is blaming his friend for losing more than $250,000 from political donors in 2008. Former Crapo manager Jake Ball lent the money to Gavin McCaleb, who invested the funds in what turned out to be a pyramid scheme. Ball described McCaleb’s handling of the money as “less than professional.” Crapo says he never authorized Ball to use the money, and didn’t find out about the investment until after it was lost. Crapo plans to amend his Federal Elections Commission filings to account for the loss in funds.
