Crude Oil Could Give Italy Economic Boost

Comstock/Thinkstock(ROME) — Italy is world-renowned for its high-quality olive oil, but it’s another kind of oil that might give the recessionary country an economic boost, crude oil.
Central Italy holds more than a billion barrels of it. Production has been limited due to environmental concerns, but it will now likely double to 200,000 barrels a day.
Critics contend, however, that Italy could generate more jobs and revenue if it properly invested in its biggest energy source — the sun — by promoting solar energy.
