Dodgers Place Kemp on DL
Published atThe 28-year-old Kemp was injured in the Dodgers’ 4-3 loss to the Angels Wednesday while running after a fly ball in the seventh inning.
The hamstring issue is a little bothering because Kemp missed 51 games last season with a strained left hamstring.
Kemp is hitting .251 with two home runs, 17 RBIs and seven stolen bases this season.
According to ESPN.com, Dodgers skipper Don Mattingly said top prospects Yasiel Puig and Joc Pederson will not be considered to take Kemp’s roster spot. Instead the Dodgers will likely recall Tony Gwynn Jr. from Triple-A Albuquerque.
