Eastern Idaho State Fair Announces Theme

(BLACKFOOT, ID)  — It’s Official… It’s a Feeding Frenzy at this year’s Eastern Idaho State Fair! General Manager Brandon Bird announced the 2013 theme at the fair’s media day held Wednesday, May 15^th, along with the grandstand lineup for this years weeklong event. The EISF has a rich tradition of the best fair food in the intermountain west. This year’s theme reflects this rich tradition and will serve as a springboard for many food-themed events throughout the week.

The Eastern Idaho State Fair is serving up a heaping dish of country this year— with Chris Young set to perform on Thursday, 9/5, along with special guest Morgan Frazier. Trace Adkins takes the stage on Friday, 9/6, with special guest Due West. Chris Young was 2011’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year with three impressive studio albums, including hits like “Tomorrow”, “Voices”, “You”, and “The Man I Want to Be”. Trace Adkins’ unique baritone belts out a full range of heart-wrenching ballads and up-tempo hits such as “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk”, “Hot Mama”, and “You’re Gonna Miss This”.    

The fair is offering a special country concert package—2 nights for 1 low price. Concertgoers will receive tickets to both headlining acts (fair admission included), starting at $44.00. This is definitely a great deal, but the specials don’t stop there— take advantage of the Early Bird Special by purchasing your tickets in June, and receive the same Two-Night Concert Package starting at ONLY $39.00. Premium concert packages will also be available for the first time this year to enhance your concert-going experience for an additional cost.

Returning to the EISF in 2013 is the PRCA-sanctioned Gem State Classic Pro Rodeo presented by Project Filter. The Gem State Classic Pro Rodeo will be held over two nights, Monday 9/2 and Tuesday 9/3. Tickets are $15 per adult and $8 per child. Take advantage of the early bird special by purchasing them in June and get both nights of rodeo (fair admission included) for only $25 per adult and $12 per child.

For you adrenaline junkies, the Monster Energy FreestyleMX.com Worldwide Tour is back again by popular demand! As one of the fastest growing spectator sports in America, Freestyle MX features motorcycle riders performing a series of jumps and tricks, which are scored by professional judges. Watch the world’s best riders perform amazing aerial stunts like the “Superman”, “Rock Solids”, and the famed “Kiss of Death” on Wednesday, 9/4—$20 Adult, $10 Child.
