Furlough Days for DOD Employees Reduced to 11
Published at(WASHINGTON) — Civilians working for the Department of Defense will not face 22 days of furlough as originally expected, an official confirms to ABC News.
Instead, the 750,000 employees at the Pentagon will only be forced to take half those days off without pay as a result of the sequester.
Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel will announce at a town hall with Department of Defense workers on Tuesday that the number of unpaid furlough days has been cut to 11.
Earlier, the number of days stemming from the automatic spending cuts had been reduced from 22 to as many as 14.
