Knicks head coach Mike Woodson made the announcement to the media Saturday.

The 30-year-old Stoudemire has been out of action since March 7 with a right knee injury.

Woodson said that Stoudemire will scrimmage with the team Thursday. If that works out well, Stoudemire will do the same on Friday and then play on Saturday.

The Knicks have gone 17-6 and won their first round playoff series against the Celtics since Stoudemire has been out.

Stoudemire is averaging 14.2 points and five rebounds a game this season.
