(NEW YORK) — After the Memphis Grizzlies were swept out of the Western Conference Finals in their first appearance by the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, the future of head coach Lionel Hollins is in question.
“Hopefully, I will be here,” Hollins said on Tuesday. “I love the guys. I love this city and the fans and everybody associated with the team. But we’ve got to be very, very realistic in what the future holds.”
Hollins is still under contract with Memphis until the end of June, but is being mentioned as a top candidate for the vacant jobs with the Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks.
CEO Jason Levien would like to keep Hollins in Memphis for a long time.
“Certainly, we admire the job he’s done. He’s been very helpful and very positive,” Levien said, according to the Commercial Appeal.
